What is "My Wish"?

A few of you guys know my love of music. Music is what got me back into photography. I actually have sold off about $10K in high end guitars to start my photography business. I sold the last nice guitar last week in order to buy some studio lights.

There is a new song out by Rascal Flats titled "My Wish". Coming home from Church today I really "listened" to the lyrics, I've heard the song 100 times as it is on my play list while I'm working on photo stuff.

The lyrics just spoke to me and made me really think about what I want for "my girls".

So what I did was created this simple collage with a few of my wifes' favorite shots of the girls and her. I then took the first verse and the chorus and put it behind them in the shot.

The inspiration for it being behind them should speak for itself but it is how I feel about what I want for them.

Sure you can't see all the words but for me that is not important, we will think of the song when we see the print. You can see the first line and then most important the last line in the chorus under the film strip.

I'm having this printed 30" wide by about 11" tall and we will hang it either in our hall way or our bedroom. I'm ordering an extra for my in-laws and my mother. I printed one done similar for a golf client yesterday and I was blown away, as were they, on how nice it looked.

Just in case you are unfamiliar with the lyrics here they are complete;

My Wish
Rascal Flatt's

I hope that days come easy and moments pass slow,
and each road leads you where you want to go,
and if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
if it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,

More than anything, more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
all the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
and you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
and you always give more than you take.

But More than anything, Yeah, more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too
yeah, this, is my wish

Inspired and Beautiful. This is the time when it starts to get serious for them. I have a "tween" daughter and this time of life is a scary one for them(& us!). Sooo many pitfalls waiting out there! Thank you for sharing this image.

If I do I get old and die!

Did you see "STOP" in urban life?

Thanks Dwight!

Tell us about your trip?

awesome idea

Thanks,

This is one of the first "ideas" I've had that was really for "ME and my wife", I'm glad others like it.

The cool thing is we don't really have many pictures hanging in our house, of the ones we do have they are the JC Penny portraits my wife had done long before I was doing photography.

I hung this one on the landing of our stairs, so I get to walk by it every day at least a dozen times. My home office is upstairs, along with the kids room and game room.

That is what I like the most.....I get to think about "My Wish" everyday....the girls see it and I hope someday they will understand what it really means to me.

Three of us, four nights at Huntington Lake in an R.V. park in our truck camper. Long walks, daily naps (with Anna), lots of reading, nightly campfires for the three of us. Not a single frame fired due to extremely fine dust from end-of-summer-tourist-season but prior to winter-tourist-season construction and repairs in the middle of a vast forest.

Sounds like heaven, the only thing missing would be a little guitar playing.;)

Yes, we actually talked about that! And more amazing, Marna tuned in the local country station, KISS out of Fresno, and low and behold there was Jimmy Wayne talking and singing in the studio on tour with Rick Barker ... I called Rick and left a message that we were listening. At the end of the show, Jimmy thanked us personally on the air! I called Rick back and he invited us to meet Jimmy at his house tomorrow.

BTW, he says that it was a CD of my images of Jack Ingram that got you in the door for the concert you requested ... they expect some quality from you. I haven't put the images on my website yet, sigh, just too busy but I'll see what I can manage soon ... after all, the concert was just in July! :-)

Cool,

I don't think we have confirmed a date yet. I'm holding out for New Years Eve at Billy Bob's.
