70-300 IS with TC?

Just wondering if anyone has used a teleconverted with the canon 70-300 IS? And what are your thoughts? I guess you'll lose AF right? Was it a positive outcome or no?

BTW, I am thinking to augment the reach for wild life photography with the TC if possible.

I use the Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 DG and I retain autofocus. I have posted pix in a previous thread.

What body are you using it on? On a 20D/30D, the cheap Tamron 1.4x oscillates like a machine gun quite a bit before locking focus. The Kenko Pro/Tamron SP 1.4x (with 3 left pins taped) work quite well; much less oscillating. Both require lots of light and a contrasty subject. I would strongly recommend the Kenko Pro or Tamron SP series.

On this body, I wouldn't recommend using a TC. You can try it, but I think it'll be frustrating to achieve consistent AF.
