Just a quick question from owners.
Any built-in flash blockage with this lens?
Looks like a winner from all the reviews here, but sometimes you need a little built-in help when you are traveling light.

The built-in can produce some very unfavorable results and shadows. Red-eye, too. Mac users swear by their computers. PC users swear at theirs.

From about one to one-and-a-half feet, it's a bit hazy but there. Once you're more than one-and-a-half feet from the subject, at 55, there is no shadow. http:// …Gear List

Although I've just used it for some fill-in when I don't have my bigger flashes around. You will notice it if you are very close to your subject and using the flash as the primary light source, as the others have mentioned. Also, the lens hood actually partially blocks the AF assist pattern beam from my speedlite 430EX. However, I have not noticed any negative effects of this.
