Quick senior headshot

I've been working on my son's senior pictures, and tonight he told me he had to have a headshot to submit tomorrow morning. This is what I came up with. Comments/suggestions welcomed, and thanks for looking.

It's certainly well exposed and sharp.
If he's happy with it...it's all good, right?

Thanks. He really doesn't care one way or the other...he's only submitting yearbook pics for his mother.
He does have one caveat when I'm shooting him tho-"Don't fix my face...this is how I look, like it or not."

With a healthy self image like that, this young man is going places.

The lighting and so on is good to me. The smudging to blend him and the background is a bit off, I can see the smudge lines but other than that it looks good to me. What was the original background?
