I recognize that the 85 is more than 1 stop faster than the 28-75, but since the focal lengths are so close, I'm wondering....

Sep 18, 2006 20:22 | #9 The 28-75 is going to be my go anywhere lens . The 85 will be one of my portrats lenses . I'll use the tam until I can get a canon 24-70 , by that time I should be FF.

I've heard good things about that Tamron, but I do know about the 85 f/1.8......so please do post your test shots, and remember, photography threads are worthless without pictures. Canon SD600

I had to send my camera in for back focusing issues so I'm not sure how long I will be without it. I've only had it since April and it goes everywhere I do. Please post pics when you get the lens. I'll be waiting by the mailbox for mine. 7D Gripped, 30D Gripped, G10 | Tamron 28-75 2.8 | Canon EF 50 1.4 USM, 85 1.8 USM, 28-135 IS |Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 | Canon 430EX | Lowepro 300 AW & Toploader 75 AW | Sigma 1.4 TC
