Out of ignorant curiosity, how do you plan to use these lenses? I recognize that the 85 is more than 1 stop faster than the 28-75, but since the focal lengths are so close, I'm wondering....

EDIT: I don't mean to imply that there should never be overlap/duplication of focal lengths, it's just that I associate that sort of thing with "rounding out" a lens collection, perhaps with primes to complement zooms, etc. Maybe that's what's happening here.

The 28-75 is going to be my go anywhere lens . The 85 will be one of my portrats lenses . I'll use the tam until I can get a canon 24-70 , by that time I should be FF.

I've heard good things about that Tamron, but I do know about the 85 f/1.8......so please do post your test shots, and remember, photography threads are worthless without pictures.

I just made the same exact purchase....how funny. I had to send my camera in for back focusing issues so I'm not sure how long I will be without it. I've only had it since April and it goes everywhere I do. Please post pics when you get the lens. I'll be waiting by the mailbox for mine.
