Swallows in flight, + 1 nest shot.

It was extremely windy today so the swallows were alot slower today as they faced the wind, but it was still hard to get decent shots.

The nest I found under a small bridge/walkway.

Very hard to catch these fast moving birds in flight but #2 is a nice shot and i like the pic of the nest, did you use a flash on this?

I tried using the cameras built-in flash, and also took some shots without. I think this was one without the flash, but it has been fiddled with in Photoshop.


Currently just a P&S, but watch this space.

as pete said very fast bird when they swoop best try and catch them when they are
against the wind as i did at minsmere first swallow flight shot no2 best

I've tried to get swallows flying.. I haven't had much luck :)

I was doing this ysterday and would have had soe nice shots had it not been for the dying light. I was shooting with a 70-200mm. It must have been hard holding that camera with the 400mm.

These can be very fast birds. I noticed that many seem to take the same flight paths and even then it was very difficult getting them in frame for long.
