The Great Horned owl was nowhere to be seen today. That doesn't mean it still isn't on the island.....maybe just doing a better job of hiding (it was sunny today).

I was there this morning and checked the shoreline for approx 15 minutes. Got distracted by warblers and ended up walking the perimeter of the lake. I stopped and chatted with an older birding couple and these folks told me that a week ago they saw two Great Horned Owls not 20 feet from the wooden bridge in a small tree. First time i have heard of the Owls being there.
