I was messing around with the great Canon EF 80-200 f/2.8 L to get used to it. It was late in the evening last winter. The sun was about getting down behind the horizon and the lake starts to show that great blue colour. The lens did the job pretty good...

C&C welcome.

Excellent shot Rafael, the blue colour looks very deep blue and has a nice effect, good shot of the Duck showing up nice details, well done.

Rafael,
very sharp shot.
reading the title of this posting i had expected to see a "portrait" - head & shoulders and not a whole bird.
it seems to me that the color of the water is a bit unreal - could be the result of over processing in ps.
i think that if you had taken this shot from a lower angle (bird's eye level) it would have been a lot better in terms of its composition

I must have a look on the original to have a look on the blue tone... As far as I can remember the dark and "full" blue was a result of the low, red, wintersun...

You are right about the angle and the composition. Ziggi, do you mind having a look on another picture of me where I am also not shure about the composition?

Its the third picture...

Thanks in advance...

Grüß, Rafael,

like Ziggi I think I would prefer this if the POV was less "looking down at" the bird - getting lower, closer to the bird's own eye level, would improve things a lot .
