Hi there,

a while back I posted some shots of a female masked lapwing sitting on 4 eggs and also a shot of the eggs and including a male that pretends to limp to distract any threats, she had layed them in the middle of a roundabout. Usually they die or get squashed but today I managed to get some shots of 4 health chicks. Very camoflage and very tiny, anyway here they are.

Comments always welcome

Regards Darren

1. Here is mum or dad and 3 of the 4 chicks. "it's ok kids you eat I will keep guard, if it moves get it cos it's food !"

They don't seem to mind the heavy traffic so close by do they?
Beautiful shots showing the newly hatched masked lapwings and parent and in the first shot it has the cute factor to it. I wonder if they distract the drivers as they pass by the roundabout. Nice shots Darren, well done.

These have survived I saw them today on a side street all young in tow, must have moved them from the roundabout under the light of the street lights.
