I like it a lot. However, it looks like there is a lock of the adult's hair in the frame, and that is quite distracting to me, especially where it curves around in front of the child's temple. I would consider trying to clone that out.

Am in agreement with the first responder. There is just too much going on that is not relevant to the child.

Otherwise, the lighting on the child's face, the color balance and the pose are quite good for a candid child shot.

New here, but not new to photography

The lock of hair doesn't bother me as much as the thumb behind her... maybe a different crop might work better?

As the PP said, the lighting and focus are great!
