Said goodbye to EFS 17-85 today and hello to EF24-105 L IS. This will be walkaround lens on 350D. Have just taken a few test shots, although weather conditions are grey and overcast. Am impressed so far with definition and effectiveness of IS for hand held shots - hope to investigate this further over coming days, weatherman permitting.
First impressions favourable!

One of my favorite lenses, especially for festivals and fairs. Liked it enough to write short review:24-105 Mini Review (external link)

A wonderful lens - the backbone of my wedding work. That lens and the 5D replaced my MF gear. - Stu

Nice lens indeed, but 24mm is just not wide enough for a cropped sensor for me. On a full frame, it would be much nicer, and wider.

http://www.digitalfotoclub.com …6&rf=pg&dfdate=09_20_2006 (external link)

seem to have the best price and gotten good reviews. though in the description of the lens, it only shows the lens and cap as being included in the box.

and i notice other places showing the hood, case is also supposed to be included?

edit: nm, i just called to confirm and it does include everything. anyone order stuff fromt hat site before though? :)
