I shot this and hated the background in color so I converted it to B&W and brought the color back to the butterfly. Any C&C would be apprecited.

Sorry...this just doesn't work for me. Selective coloring makes this image even more confusing to the eye than it already was.

Well, I didn't find it confusing but I'm not sure how I feel about it...doesn't quite settle right. Could we see the original?

I appreciate your comments. No need to appologize for your opinion on the image, Dan. Although I would be interested in exactly how it is confusing to your eye. I was going for something kind of stark. Here is the original. I dont mind it, but, it is just a little cliche and the background bothers me for some reason.

It may just be the placement of the butterfly. Perhaps distracted would have been a better choice of terms. The more I look at it...I think it is the vertical format that causes the issue. When I use a sheet of paper to mask the image to a horizontal format the image works much better for me.

Nice one Craig. I love #1. Smart decision to use selective color to make the subject stand out more in the photo. Arty factor +10.:)

I like the selective colouring too, but try the "landscape" crop on that too.
