So I just got my 16-35 from my favorite person dressed in brown driving a brown truck....the ups guy. It truly is everything I hoped and more. I was obviously expecting it to be a lot like my old 10-22 on my 30d....but this time it's brighter to look through (because of the 2.8) and the viewfinder is gorgeous (because it's mounted on a 5D). I've only taken a few test shots from the back door of my office and I am already in love. And sharp? ohhweee is this copy sharp. I was offered a few different copies of the lens and eventually picked one where I was unable to see samples because the seller couldn't get to his computer any time soon but had great feedback and promised it was darn sharp. Well he was right and I am a happy pup!

now I'm about to sneak off and take some pictures with this lovely thing.

Congrats.
This is one heck of a lens, and one heck of a GOOD choice for an FF camera alike 5D ... especially on the wide side !!!

didnt get a chance to get away...had to go to a meeting.

oh well, here's a shot I took from the railroad tracks when I ran outside for 3 minutes.

shot at 16mm at 2.8...I'm amazed how sharp it is considering some of the not so outsanding reviews I read. guess I got a sharp copy...and din't have the dread USER ERROR.

I need to get one too.

First three Canon 5Ds. Some lights (some really fancy ones too). Some glass (maybe a few too many but who's keeping track?). Some cool stamps on my passport.

This is a sweet lens for sure. The 5D really lets it shine. Even on a crop camera though, it's definitely a fun lens. Great form factor for a lens too.
