Canon EF 75-300mm f4/5.6 USM MK3 ?

Just wondered if someone can claify something for me. I just won this lense on ebay:

But now I have just got a message from one of the people who was also bidding in the auction which said:

Hi, Well done, I think you should ckeck this out, I have looked at my other 75-300 mk 111 usm, this one doesnt look the same, just a thought..Dennis

What do you reckon? Is that true or are they just annoyed because I beat them within 30 seconds of the auction. Also I'm not sure why he would be bidding on another one if he already has one.

I thought it was a bit suspect. I think he was just really annoyed that I got in on the auction right at the end when he was bidding for it about 3 minutes previous.

The pics shown in the eBay link is a non-USM version. Optical-wise they are the same. The difference in price and AF performance between 2 versions are marginal, anyway.

yes the nonUSM version and the USM version do look different. you are just fine.
