Ok, here is the deal. I just am fixing to get paid for a job after 7 long months of waiting. Since it has been so long since I did the job it is as if the money has already come and gone. Ok now to point of this thread. I have approx. $2,500 to spend however I choose. I am looking at getting my first good lenses, a decent printer, a good flash, battery grip, more batteries, monopod, etc. What I was wanting from you guys is some opinions on which lenses you would buy and why. I am tempted to get the 70-200 f/4, but then I got to thinking that I could get the 28-135 IS and the 100-400 IS and cover the range of the 70-200 and then some... See my dilemma, haha. I will be shooting wildlife/nature, urban, portraits, some macro. Basically a little bit of everything. What would you do? Thanks

heres a B&H wishlist i through together.
i put in a 17-50 F2.8 for the urban stuff and walkaround,
the 60 2.8 for macro and portraits
and a 50-500 Bigma for nature
580EX. you could get the 430EX if you are a bit strapped for cash.
as for batteries, ive heard the stearlingtechs are very good for much less money.

everything is in there but the battries and printer, for just under $2500 shipped.

I know you asked about lenses, but I wonder about the printer you mentioned. One day, I too, will get a "good" printer. but, for the time being, I'm more interested in amassing gear that will help me create images than gear that allows me to print them. Do you print a large percentage of your pix or do you mostly post them to the web or view them on a monitor with your clients or provide them electronically on a disk, etc? If printing is a relatively small part of your photography, you might want to delay the printer purchase an rely on one of the good, reasonably priced printing services (even Wal-Mart). Your current gear list seems rather sparse and the $600-$1200 (depending on the definition of a "good" printer) would go a long way in expanding your lens and accessory collection.

Thanks for the wishlist, lol. You are really good at spending my money, haha! Those lenses look like good options. I am not sure about that 580, I may go with the 430, but who knows. runninman, you make a good point, waiting on the printer and expanding my camera gear would be better. Thanks again.
