I really like the second one. Except for the 4 or 5 looking to their right, everyone else is doing their own thing.

thank you Superdiver

I thought the expressions were a world wide thing
apologies to anyone who had the same problem

over here, as far as I know and I am not a race going person normally but sometimes like to take shots of the people who do go
I hear the expressions used a lot

tipster is a person who sells tips to people betting on horse races
(or speculating on the stock market)

and punters are people who place bets

thanks again

Hi Marie,

I like the originals more especially the second which i looked at in B/W. Im from Carrickmarcross originally and I get the feeling this was at a meet somewhere in the south ? The older guy in the hat reminds me of a Charlie Haughey type guy from Cork / Kerry ?

hello David

many thanks for saying.
now that you mention it .....that man is very like Charles Haughey (r.i.p.)

this race meeting was in County Kildare
(and not too far from where the Ryder Cup is taking place at the moment, amid heavy heavy downpours):(

I know Carrickmacross well
beautiful countryside
:D

Loved both renditions Marie. hard to pick, I do think I really like the B&W of the tipsters a tad more. both coloured versions are nice and I do agree I like the fact that everyone seems to be interesed in everything else but whats in front of them. :D

thanks a lot Frank and Sandy

I always think of the song 'meet me in St Louis' when I see the name anywhere
but as you explained before Frank, your St Louis is not the one mentioned in the song

I think those three men at the very back of the crowd shot were watching a race replay on a huge screen up there.
why they are looking that way
and like that

there were massive screens placed all over

see one here >
