Got my Sigma 10-20 in the mail today!

Fist of all, a big thank you to cgratti for excellent shipping and emails.

Onto the lens. The first thing I noticed is that this thing is (like my other Sigma EX) built like a tank. It feels very solid and focuses quick. Picture quality is great so far. The manual focus ring is very smooth. However, I don't understand why the weather has to go to crap every time I get a new lens. Same thing happened with my Sig 24-70.

I got this lens recently as well.

It's a beauty of a lens. Built solid, focuses so quiet and fast, focus and zoom ring are so smooth. Picture quality is excellent. It's so wide at 10mm you need to be careful when shooting vertically while aiming below the horizon....your feet might show up.

Got this lens recently too, make sure you use the lens hood as I was getting all kinds of stray light when I was shooting some scenes without it.

Wow...ready to pull the trigger but holding back because I haven't really seen an example that showed it's tallents...these with their verticle structures and line has me absolutly convinced...Thanks for posting these...

I got mine earlier this week and am looking forward to shooting with it this weekend.

Thanks for the pics! I am myself trying to decide between the Sigma and the Canon UWA. This thread seems to have swung the balance back to the Sigma as I was initially concerned about the unusual distortion characteristics this lens possesses. The subject matter of these shots tell me I have nothing to worry about. You didn't do any kind of distortion correction, right?

Nope, just saw RAW post proc in CS2 and a simple resize.

My favorite lens to play with is the Sigma UWA. You are sooo gonna love it.

it is a great lens. love mine. however, for the poster who mentioned using the hood, i can't use it at 10mm. it seems to get in the way.

Your Sigma hood vignettes on your 1020EX at 10mm? It shouldn't. I use a standard-sized MC UV filter on my 1020EX with the hood and have no problems at all. You sure it's screwed on correctly?
