Love the expression on the babies. Face. However it looks to me like you selected the background to turn it all black and accidentally took away some of the babies head on the side. If not then it the angle the baby was in.

No, I have a black backdrop and I try to space the subject as far away as space will allow. Then I turn my lights so it's coming more from the side. In this case the main light was pointing 90 degrees from the backdrop and used a reflector close to the subject for fill. Hair light was used behind the subjects pointing away from the backdrop.
