We have a few red tail hawks flying around here. This is one of them.
Used my 100-400 for this.

Thanks for checking!

great capture!! doesnt look like our ospreys here on the east coast, might it be an imm. red tail or similar?

Here is what ours look like.Either way, great capture of an in-flight.

I think you are right Trevor, this is not an Osprey.
It might be a read tail...
O.k. - here is another pic I took a couple of weeks ago - pretty sure this is one. Looks a lot like yours and the fish confirms it too.
Your pictures are an excellent capture, especially the #1 & 4.

The first image is indeed a red-tail hawk. The "belly band" is a dead giveaway. Both iamges are very nice but I particularly like the hawk with the backlighting making the flight feathers glow. An excellent exposure!

An interesting note about Ospreys is that they can be found on more continents than any other raptors. In fact they are found on all of the continents except Antarctica. The Seattle football team is named after one of their nicknames - Seahawks.

Nice captures.

First one is definitely a Red Tail Hawk and the second is the Osprey.

Well done.

Very nice shot of the RTH. The light that went thru the wings is really cool!
