These 3 photos of this tiny warbler were taken at Mud Lake on Sunday after Ted and I had finished phtotographing a Great Horned Owl in the morning. I got lucky as this bird came down into a small tree in front of where i had been shooting a Yellow Rumped warbler. Really never stopped moving and in the second shot his left leg is blurred from his run and hop down the branch.

Canon 30D and 400mm F5.6 ..all at 500 ISO, 1/400 sec at F6.3 +1/3 exp. compensation

Terrific shots of a bird I've never seen. I prefer the 3rd shot, presents the eye wonderfully, the pose also works great. Oh they're all !

Beautiful bird. Love that first shot. Man, what a pose! You captured some fine detail and the subtle colours on the bird. Well done.

Very, Very Jealous of your first shot!

The colors of the bird and surroundings make this shot and of course the warbler.

I had one in my site but was only able to get the perch he was standing on...moving.....moving....moving....

Great spped in capturing this one and great sharpness to boot.

You may never post one of these warblers again on this forum:(

Excellent shots as always Gary. Can't choose between the first and the third shot. Brilliant work. :-)

Glad you got to see one too, Gary. Aren't they just wonderful? Beautiful shots, with the third being my favorite with a perfect view of its "necklace" (hence its french name).
