Walking along the coast the other day waiting for some big puffy clouds to form but all I got was gray skies.

Two exposure, flattened in CS2

Man, that is just incredible Frank. It took me a bit to reply as I wanted to just sit here and admire it.

I would take that sky over the "big puffy clouds" you were hoping for anyday. I know I use this term too much, but the sky is very dynamic as are the waves. The color of the foreground stones and how they lead you into the shot is very well done. I also love the huge stone to the left. Are those wild-berries or red flowers?

Great job!

No way,no puffy clouds with this one, they wouldn`t go.
I prefer the dark grey and moody clouds of this one, especially if they were more detailed by nature.
Nice one Frank,well done.

Thanks Robert and Dimitri for the kind words. I didn't expect any responses with this one. Just thought I'd post it only because I had a fun day shooting.

Yes Robert, those are berries on the rock and not flowers. They're called Marsh Berries and I filled my belly :p with them while waiting for "Puffy Clouds"

Dimitri there wasn't much done with the sky in PP just a few highlights brought out and darkened just a tad and then the image was sharpened globally.

Wonderful shot, Frank. I'm sure you could make a nice photo of the same place on a sunny day, but the moodiness of this shot is what makes it, along with the detail and color of the rock. This reminds me of NL, as we saw a bit of those skies and I love your rocky coast. Good work.

Actually Stan you may walked right along where i took this shot, Cape Spear, the lighthouse is behind me and I'm looking north.
The next time I go there it'll be early morning just when the sun is hitting the shore.

The breaking surf makes this for me, it provides a nice pleasing contrast to the broody sky. The large stone anchors the image well, although you need to straighten your horizon.

Very nice Frank, I like the colours in the foreground contrasting with the moody sky.

The horizon is ever so slightly tilted but that's just a minor fix. You've captured a great mood with this shot Frank, lots of foreground interest too. Well done.
