Walking along the coast the other day waiting for some big puffy clouds to form but all I got was gray skies.
Two exposure, flattened in CS2

I would take that sky over the "big puffy clouds" you were hoping for anyday. I know I use this term too much, but the sky is very dynamic as are the waves. The color of the foreground stones and how they lead you into the shot is very well done. I also love the huge stone to the left. Are those wild-berries or red flowers? Great job! ![]() Thanks Robert and Dimitri for the kind words. I didn't expect any responses with this one. Just thought I'd post it only because I had a fun day shooting. dv2004 wrote in post #2025186 No way,no puffy clouds with this one, they wouldn`t go. I prefer the dark grey and moody clouds of this one, especially if they were more detailed by nature. Nice one Frank, well done. Dimitri there wasn't much done with the sky in PP just a few highlights brought out and darkened just a tad and then the image was sharpened globally.

I'm sure you could make a nice photo of the same place on a sunny day, but the moodiness of this shot is what makes it, along with the detail and color of the rock. This reminds me of NL, as we saw a bit of those skies and I love your rocky coast. Good work. Stan (See my gallery at http://www.pbase.com/sparker1

Actually Stan you may walked right along where i took this shot, Cape Spear, the lighthouse is behind me and I'm looking north. They're called Marsh Berries and I filled my belly with them while waiting for "Puffy Clouds"![]() Dimitri there wasn't much done with the sky in PP just a few highlights brought out and darkened just a tad and then the image was sharpened globally. Yes Frank,i noticed, thats why i said by nature,if the formations were more details. My site

The large stone anchors the image well, although you need to straighten your horizon. Canon 1DS MKIII,7D, 85 1.2L, 24 F1.4L, 135 F2L, 200mm F2.8L,50mm F1.4, 120-300 F2.8, 12-24mm f 4.5
