Thank you for the comment, these guys can be tough to photograph. They are common, but they do not come into photo range very often, at least not for me :confused:

Very cool RTH series. I agree with Andy on placing the hawk more to the left in #2.

Nice shots and if the first one was mine i would pull about 5 % of the shadows out of the image to lighten the under wings and face. In the second shot the rule of thumb would say to give more room to the bird on the right side of the image but the perch is quite interesting as well so I like this shot as posted. Nice!

Ok, I took the advice of the board and moved opened up the space to the left of the perched hawk and lightened the second a little. Let me know if these are better :)
