Warranty Serviced Ordered

Was just on the Canon site and ordered a service/calibraion on my EF 28-135 IS. Will be sending it to the Irvine Service Center.
Anyone here by chance send this lens to Irvine? and if so how was it when it came back? It seems to me to be front focusing by a couple inches and very soft. When I first got it I thought maybe I just needed to learn to use the IS better but on or off the tripod, IS on or off it all seems to me to be very soft to the point of almost out of focus. Any thoughts, encouragements, or discouragements? Thanks for any input.

Don't tripod mount that lens with is on.

I have sent several lenses to them (not that particular one) and have always got great service. Longest it ever took was 10 days round trip.

Thanks guys. I don't consider myself a complete dummy but wanted to make sure it wasn't just me before sending it is so tried everything I could think of. I do know to not normally have IS on when on the tripod. I guess it's just that I've never had to send any of my equipment in for service before so was/am a bit apprehensive. Thanks again.
