Gotta love those momma's boys! From this morning. C&C welcome.
Rebe xt, Tamron 28-75, aps around 7 and up, ss 60, ISO 800 ( it was dark and almost rainy).

1: USM 100/ .5, contrast +7, resize, then resharpened again for web and it looks a bit to much...doesn't look like that for print..

I like the setting and the composition of the first, but like you say it's over sharpened. The second is just to soft for my taste. Maybe if the subjects were crisper and it got softer as it goes out. And since I don't care for feet the fact that no one has shoes on ruins it for me.

I like the barefeet, Kathy...so you see, photos are all a matter of personal preference.
I like the 2nd one best... the casual, outdoorsy look works well, but too bad the younger boy isn't looking at the camera.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

lol! barefeet are kinda my trademark here, Almost every shoot I get everyone to take their shoes off! :) I think I might have one of the youngest one looking at me, I will have to double check that. Thanks for the suggestions, I like the idea of the 2nd one being a bit sharper on the family...

:)

Except for the boy not looking at the camera, the second shot is beautiful. It's a perfect informal photo with great composition.

Ignorring the "over-sharpening" issues of the pic, the first doesn't do it for me I'm affraid. The pose looks a little strained and tense. The second shot however is beautiful - just a pitty the boy on (our) left is not looking at you. A little on the soft side, but I like that. Maybe could benefit from a slightly tighter crop(?)
(and I like the "no shoes" approach :-))

I guess I got a little too excited! The very next pic of the fam on the bridge they are all looking at me! So here it is, a little different on the action, alittle more pop. Then another new one from the set. In the big picture nothing is blocking the youngest ones face, I feel like here it may seem so.. I will probably post more, until I meet the 8 images rule :) Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your honest CC.

Kathy, Your processing of the first is not quite to my taste, but the second is lovely. Well done!
