Hi all

I've been looking at a sigma 17-35 (the new version) and spending about 1 hour reading reviews I seem to come up with the same complaint over and over again and that is that the HSM motor for the auto focus fails.
Have any of you come accross this problem?

I had one for about 9 months (until I got the Canon 10-22) and never really like it - found it a bit soft, particularly wide open, and it had a 'warm' colour cast to it.
I had no problems at all with the HSM motor, fairly quick and quiet.

I had one (the DG HSM version) for about 2 months. I sold it because the HSM focus feed was soooo slow, slower than my 18-55mm kit lens. The CA was not less severe than the kit lens, and sharpness was not any better either. Perhaps i got a lemon.
