Interior Alaskan Spruce Grouse

Here is a picture of a spruce grouse. They are quite abundant in the interior of Alaska. These birds will often let you get quite close to them before flying, as they rely on camoflauge (sp?) to protect them.

Nice eye and red feathers around it...and great body shot...the grouse is very elusive here in PA.

I feel that this pic could be trimmed to just the bird with out the left side, and top branches and lighting spaces...that's just me though...i sometimes trim the pics several times till it feels right...
