Sorry to post this second time but i think it is better here than a reply post on another someone thread, sorry for that.

now i am happy that i got 30D, and i am waiting my 1Dmk2N to come soon i hope.
Now Full Frame calling me alot so i can't sleep till i can afford one very soon.
I will tell you my situation or thinking then you decide what is right decision: I love 1D series body for weather sealing, focus speed and so, for that reason i ordered first 1Dmk2N to help me in wildlife and sports later, i am thinking of 1Dsmk2 very very long time ago and i heard as you heard that maybe mk3 will come maybe, and with all that the price of 5D is coming down slowly so i can afford it anytime soon, but i don't want to get it and then replace it for 1Dsmk2 or mk3, i am sure i will buy mk2 or 3 even if i have 5D so i think maybe i will waste my money to get 2 cameras when i think of one, i am not hurry on FF now but i will think and decide to add it to my list sooner or later, i have time to buy it later. Now another thing i think about is that i got good bodies already so it is time to get some glasses as i am sure you all prefer to get more glasses over bodies, so what i think of glasses are all expensive except one or 2 glasses.

the glasses i look for are the following:

EF 500mm f4L IS
EF 400mm f2.8L IS
EF 300mm f2.8L IS
EF 135 f2L
EF 85 f1.2L
EF 50 f1.2L
EF 35 f1.4L

the most glasses i think of are: 500 & 135, the rest i can buy later one by one and maybe i can ignore some if i don't need for some reasons and all due to my limited budget every month.
there are 300 f4LIS and 400 f5.6L i can afford them as well but always i look for the best so then i don't look back or replace later or buy another, need always fast lenses because i work in all conditions outdoor and indoor in good light and low light.

so now i don't know what to take next, new body is coming (mk2N) so i will not think of new body (dsmk2/3) very soon, so only glasses are in mind now, but 500 is out of my budget for about 2 months, and if i buy one lens now (say 135L) then i will wait another one or 2 month to get another gear. So if you are people in my place, what you will do?

Don't worry people, i take photos of anything in mind everyday (from wide to long).

Tareq, no I do not worry, I agree with you that photography is a mental game as well.
You seem to have a cartload of photogear already....good gear too. However, if you feel you need more.....sure, go for it. If I were you, I'd buy the 500 f/4 and 135L up front too. Then 85L perhaps, then 300 f/2.8. I am not sure about 400 f/2.8....very expensive, very heavy.

Good luck, post some pictures with your new gears when you get a chance.;)

You listed only primes so I assume zooms are out of the question…

Primes are great but zooms are more economical and you can get some fast zooms now so….maybe you might want to rethink your list a bit. If you prioritize the type of photography you’d like, that would really help prioritize your lens list. I like shooting everything as well but the truth is I'm in certain photographic environments more then others.

Also, and I know this is going to create some discussion; I’d look at the none-L glass for the 85mm. You said you wanted to shoot sports and to me the AF on the 85 f/1.8 is better for sports. It’s also a pretty sharp lens and about 80% cheaper then the new 85mm L.

I love my 24-70 L, it’s perhaps the greatest walk around lens I have ever owned. Please don’t misunderstand me; I love primes, but only in the range for specific tasks.

My suggestion is take a look at some zooms to cover a few of the ranges you’ve listed.

Buy them all over time but buy the most expensive one now immediately so you know you have it in hand if you feel a need for it. They are all sharp and even if you don't use them then they will never go blunt like tools in a drawer and at least you know you can use them if you ever want too. They are good for taking pictures.

As for bodies buy as many as you need, or can carry, even with a man-servant, because it saves changing lenses. Buy the most expensive so you can take only the best and most sharp shots.

You also mention getting some new glasses. I think that is a great idea if your current ones have worn out. Alternatives are contact lenses and also Laser eye surgery. Both of these are better than glasses IMO and mean you can also wear cooler shades ;-

Main thing is to enjoy your gear and after it well with regular spit and polish ;-)a

If I recall from previous posts, Tareq already owns all of the f/2.8 L zooms, as well as the 100-400... these L primes are the only glass left for him to buy. ;)

There is absolutely nothing pathological about your enjoyment of gears.

HOLY CRAP! I just took a look at your gear list! Are you a pro? What kind of photography do you do?!

The last poster is correct, are you just buying the entire Canon line of equipment, because there a couple you should avoid....I am no where in your class dude! Have fun...

That's certainly how it looks from here. I say just buy one of them all so that the OP can put this most troublesome topic of "what lens" to rest for good. ;)

I say, Buy 4x 400D's with kit lens.
Then find 4 young people that really like photography, but they are not fortunate enought to buy a camera. Then start a photography learners club.
Number 1: It will make them feel really good.
Number 2: You will feel really good to help people that have a dream but could not do it.
You will find that will outweigh any lens purchase.:) :) :) :)

lol twistedP, really i think of that alot, but here i didn't find even my children interested in photography, and i am not running after kids to learn them.

Anyway, i have zooms good enough already and i think of primes only now. and YES, i want to keep Canon line only.

WOW, you're reading my mind perfectly.
in fact i am thinking of 500 and 135 alot, then 50L or 85L, but 400 f2.8 just i will buy if possible for sports and i don't think i can handle that heavy lens even on tripod/monopod to shoot most wildlife for example.
but still you forgot that even i am going to buy lenses, i am thinking alot of that new FF.

Yes, they would take good photos. Photos, that to them would be worth more than gold and would be treasured long after the gold has run out and mankind has consumed itself in what he was told not too.

Tareq, What purpose is the 500mm going to serve? I mean, how are YOU going to use it? That’s a $5,000 plus lens. I have to admit I like, but to be truthful for my photographic needs it would be a waste. So, what kind of photography are you going to do with that lens?
