I know, it's been beaten to death in this forum, but today I shot the members of a church and all shots had to be taken immediately after service with minimum setup time and fast paced shots so the members could get home, watch football or do what ever they needed to do. Shots were individual, couples and families.

As the members gathered for shots there was no time to adjust between shots and as some were individual and others groups, lighting changed dramatically throuought the shots.

I did not charge much as it was my brother-in-law's church, so time spent with post processing was not like I wanted to take a lot of time individually changing each shot.

It took me about two seconds for each shot to change the exposure. I know it could be done with the jpeg, but for me this was so much quicker and shooting in jpeg to start out with would have been more than two seconds per shot to get them looking good.

Below is the untouched and the change of exposure using Raw prior to the conversion.

agreed. I don't shoot in JPEG mode at all anymore. I have 3GB worth of memory so I don't usually run out. Had to get a bigger HD, though :)

RAW rocks! You simply CANNOT get the same exposure control in JPEG, it so different.

I currently have 2GB in cards, and my HDD is running out of space QUICK! I have over 3000 photos, nearly all RAW, taking up 15GB on my HDD :D

What you need is a DVD burner (dual-layer if possible) and a solid archiving system:D

Why yes, I DO shoot people—and they pay me well for it.:D

I have 4 gigs in cards and not near enough! my 200 gig hard drive and 350gig external is too small also...story of my life! I remember when a 7400 baud modem was lightning fast and one gig hard drive was only a fantasy...imagine that!

Yes, I've had that issue too...I shoot solely raw and it does fill up the external HD very fast...I've been archiving everything lately and weeding out the things on the HD that I don't intend to do anything with or work on any time soon.

My 4GB card (on the 5D only holds roughly 299 shots) I have two and often download everything to my Epson p4000 (if I run out when I'm out shooting)...then use it to transfer to the HD.

So were these lit by strobe or natural light? I ask because if it was natural light that exposure issue should have never happened. It takes about .25 seconds to change exposure in camera. Sure RAW is great, but you should always try to nail the exposure in camera.

Digital photography is a fad.

Wow! RAW really did save your bum on this shot!

I would love to use RAW more often, but I just don't have the space...
