Hi Guys,

I was using my G2 the other day around noon by a trout stream. I wanted to shoot some photo's of rapids using the Tv mode at 1/4 and 1/6 of a second to get the special effect of the water. The day was bright and sunny. All I managed to get was a totally overexposed photo at each setting. I thought if you use the Tv mode to change the sutter speed, the aperature is adjusted automatically. Any thoughts by anyone.

In advance thanks!

Classic

the aperature does adjust automaticly, but it can only close so far!
you need to use a neutral density filter to cut back on the light, and therefore buy yourself alittle more shutter time

i was thinking about my earlier post, there are some things to try before going to any expense.

make sure your film speed is at its slowest (50)
re-shoot in the morning, evening, or on an overcast day
or recompose the shot to a more shaded location

i hope this helps
good luck

pete

I was wondering if you were to use a neutral density filter, you the G2 adjust the aperature correctly if shot in Tv mode?

Yes. G2 metering is through the lens.

Yes, G2's metering is TTL. And, on this circumstance, a ND is needed to cut back the light. Or, instead, a C.PL acn also be used for the purpose. Or even, two C.PL can be used together if the light is too strong.

Hope it helps.
