Congrats on the new arrival :D You seem to be having a lot of fun with it already, got some great pics. Something happened to the first one though, there is some dark ghosting around the egrets top and some light ghosting around the bottom. PS? Is "ghosting" even the correct term?

I love #4 :)

Congrats on the new lens Reyno! Looks like a keeper because all the photos are awesome.:D
There's a bit of halo in #1 and #2, probably from the sharpening.

1, 2 and 3 suffer a bit from oversharpeneing,...but wow great shots of the hawk! Congrats on the new lens.

Thanks Daniel for pointing out the sharpening nit. It's an area I really need to spend more time to learn.

Thanks Zip for a warm welcome to the 500 club.

Thanks Paul and Turnerzdad for taking the time to view. I do appreciate you comments.

Congrats on the new 500 Reyno, and the images show what a fanastic lens this is. I aprticularly like image #2. BTW, I should be getting my 500 in about 2-3 months time. :)

I noticed the halos on the first two images as well (a dark halo on the first), and what appears to be a sharpening halo on the 3rd image. I believe the first two halos are a result of aggressive use of the Shadow/Highlight tool, or old fashion contrast masking. These can be somewhat alleviated by carefully hand painting on the layer mask if it's the latter method.

Nevertheless, wonderful images, and enjoy your new lens!
