Was hiking and spotted this guy in a tree. I hiked a bit closer expecting him to fly off but he stayed. I was able to rattle off quite a few shots. When he did fly off he circled me for five minutes. I shot a full 265 images of this guy, a little overkill but I was so excited. Let me know what you think, C&C much appreciated :)

Given how every hawk I have ever shot has been extremely camera shy, if I had one hanging around long enough to shoot that many shots, I'd have done the same thing. Great shots.

I was taking out the frustration of days past when they soared 1000 feet above me out of range of my 400

All I can say is lucky. Nice shots of this hard to get close to raptor. I know your feeling of surprise. I have been wanting to get close to this hawk for quite some time too. My wish was answered earlier this year when a rather tame redtail hawk came to visit. Not sure how many shots I took but it was likely a lot. An opportunity like this doesn't come along often.

The first shot is excellent with good details on the bird and when you get the hawk in-flight it's makes it another excellent shot, well done.
