I was so struggling with the lens when I first got it (last Friday) but I'm am learning to use it quite well. Just wanted to show one of the pics from the zoo on Sunday. I welcome any CC as I'm just a newbie.

I don't know if this is a good one or not but I like it.

It's a good lens. Unlike some you seemed to have learned how to use the lens with practice rather than testing out the lens at night inside and supposidly finding problems with it and returning it a few times till you end up testing it under better situation and keeping that "good copy." It's got great optics. Enjoy it.

Hah. You own all the lenses I am planning to buy (seriously, check my posts, you'll see me talking about buying the nifty fifty (50mm 1.8) tamron 28-75 and sigma 70-300 APO, and I already have the kit lens.)

This lens does appear very sharp though, which may explain why it's so popular :D.

That's funny JaGWIRE. I have done lots of reading on this forum and tried to make all of my purchases wisely and I haven't been disappointed yet. My next purchase is a monopod. We will see how I do.

You will love the Tamron! I only really got to use it Sunday but I can see the possibilities!

Ah, yes, so have I. I just ordered a bogen manfrotto tripod and lowepro mini treker aw bag and some Bryan Peterson books (understanding exposure and thinking creativity I think.) I am now also looking for a monopod, a manfrotto one hopefully.

I am looking for a used 430ex flash, but they don't seem to exist, or they sell too quickly, so I'll need to cough up the cash for one. I bought the 30D, so I'll probably need to hold off the flash purchase for a little bit.

I plan to upgrade when I get better and bored of this gear to probably a 70-200 f2.8L canon lens and get a 2x converter, and then work from there.

Nicky,
Your photos are so nice and sharp! Good idea to try it out on colorful subjects. I just got word that my new 28-75 Tamron that I ordered yesterday has been shipped. I am hoping to have it by the end of the week and try it out!
I have read so many reviews and it seems to be a terrific lens! Got my fingers crossed!!!

Very clear and sharp. I've been wanting this lens for awhile and I'm impressed by your pics.

I pretty much stink at taking photos at this point so you can see how good the lens is. Just think what I can do with a little skill (ha). I'm trying.

Thanks for the pm and was waiting for you to post the pics you mentioned. I must say outstanding quality excellent sharpness vivid colours, I think i'm definitely going for that one. was looking at the canon equivalent but for the price you can't go wrong with this one. Thanks again. Whenever you have more photos please post them and pm me if you remember

regards
