Do you truly think the 80-400 OS compares with the great 100-400 IS L?

The DG copy I used couldn't match my 1-4IS optically (not far off but not as good), but the IS v OS of these 2 lenses is close. I did think the OS was a bit more "jumpy", but still very effective. Of course the ring USM of the L is way better.
