I could see this as a book cover or movie poster! .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

Sep 26, 2006 01:42 | #6 Thank you Screamer and Livinthlife! If you want to recreate it for your brother is pretty easy! A dark brown towel over the head and one diffused flash above the subject to his right! After that all I did was burn in some areas and dodge the eyes! Oh and play with channel mixer a bit Canon 5d with 35mm 1.4L, 24-70mm 2.8L and 135mm 2.0L

Sep 26, 2006 01:51 | #8 hehe, I do love lighting more than anythign in photography! It is so fascinating to me and I too am dying for a lighting setup. I love the 580ex though and to be honest with you, using a little imagination I have gotten it to do pretty much everything I have wanted so far! I highly recomend it above any lens or camera body as your next purchase! Canon 5d with 35mm 1.4L, 24-70mm 2.8L and 135mm 2.0L

Sep 26, 2006 10:56 | #14 Thanks 52k! The size and portablitily of the 430 and 580 is the same, but you get more functionality with the 580! More power and the ability to use it as a master if you ever get another flash! Of course the cost is quite a bit more too though, but IMO it is worth it Canon 5d with 35mm 1.4L, 24-70mm 2.8L and 135mm 2.0L
