let's hope OS is much better than it is on the 80-400. IS needs some decent competition

Just out of curiousity, does anyoe know if this lens also has HSM? Just wondering if Sigma incorporated HSM and OS together on this one.

Thanks,
Travis

It doesn't look like it.. I would think if it had HSM we would be told about it.

They can do what they like with the Bigma but putting their half-arsed OS on the 120-300 would ruin a fine lens IMO.

Is this lens the same or similar to the nikkor 18-200 VR? Remember the nikkor 80-400VR is a sigma built lens

-Though even if i'm guessing right ,don't take this to mean the lenses would be identical inside .When companies do this they usually make the lenses slightly different. Usually the camera company demands the best version which they then sell at a slightly higher price.
Oddly Pentax/Tamron did it the other way round some years ago -Tamron made the better version with the best multicoating and other minor features while Pentax took a more budget spec'd lens

I can't get to Sigma's website from work (it's blocked:mad: ) so I didn't know if maybe this little review overlooked it;) .

I wonder why they don't?

Awesome! Finally some competition for that 18-200VR from Nikon. If only SIgma put HSM on it... I'd buy it.
