well as you can see from my sig...theyre predominantly zooms. i love my zooms...they are so awesome outdoors, but there are times where i wish they were just a little faster indoors. i recently got a 430EX. i was wondering, should i invest in some primes for indoors and keep the zooms for other situations? or will the flash compensate for the speed i need? a lot of the pics i take with the flash, just dont come out the way i want to. granted, i have a lot to learn about them...as for primes i was thinking 35 1.4L to replace my 50mm of purchase a 135 f2.0L

flipm3,
Can you get the results you want with your 50mm f/1.4? ???
If so, then maybe yes get more primes.
If no, then maybe practice more with your flash.

It all depends on what you are shooting indoors or in low light, flash can 'kill' any mood or subtle lighting there is around, but if you need to freeze movement flash is handy.

As Johs asks, can you get the sort of results you want with your 50 1.4? Getting a 35 1.2 won't make a lot of difference to the images, except for a different field of view...

I have gone almost completely primese. I have found that fast glass fits my shooting style. Not for low light performance, but for DOF and creative control. Yes it is nice to have the ability to shoot low light. I did keep 1 zoom for shooting in unknown situations, however, I find zooming with my feet fine for most situations.

35L is AWESOME. 135L is too. they are both Trinity members for good reason. these would compliment your bag quite nicely. IMHO, zooms cant replace primes, but primes can replace zooms.

Love primes and they will love you back!

It's always good to have at least one good prime that's nice and bright - and light/small. Zooms are great, but they're not the answer to everything.

well if i get a 35 f/1.4L...then ill just sell my 50mm. but do u think gettin a 135 f/2.0L would just be too redundant as i do haev the 70-200...granted...i dont have the most money in the world, so bugdet is tight. so which one should i go with? 35 or 135?

i am on the prime bandwagon...my 30 and 50 lenses get most of my use. haven't used the kit lens in a while, but i won't toss my wide angle or telephoto zooms out as they definitely have their place.

was thinking of the 24-70 or 17-55IS, but may just get the 85 f/1.8 and not worry about it.
