New version of the Lensbaby speciality lens has been release. It is interesting in that it will allow for locking focus and fine tuning of focus. This lens is not for everyone. It is a specialty lens. A tool for an intended purpose. It is also a little pricey, but interesting.

cool, looks a lot easier to use then the 2.0 version. ive always considered ordering one, tried it once at a show and it was pretty fun. just dont know if id use it enough to justify it.

yea if this thing locks into place as well as it looks like it should id definitly consider it. seems like you would eternally be screwing around with the original versions to get them where you want, and then just to have them snap back into place when you let go.

Interesting...I like the idea of locking it into place.

I Think I may sell my current one and get this one. It would really be easier to manage. It can make some interesting landscape shots if I am able to blend multiple shots together.

The Original and 2.0 versions are a bit of a pain to work with. Plus you could not ever get to "identical" bracketed shots. I may get one. I need to get a polarizer that cost about the same for my 10-20 and 70-200 first...

It is definately a much smarter design.

it defintly has always seemed like a toy more than a real lens, but its on its way to being a well usable tool.

Yup, the older versions were quite toy like, but have a solid build. I am not much about having to change apeture rings out. Kinda is a pain. A manual bladed aperture would be easier to me, but the boeken (Spelling?) would not be as nice... I guess?

I never really understood the desire to play with this lens... Sure, you can get some interesting effects - but how often are you really going to use it?

Are there some GREAT examples out there? The ones I've seen, on average, are just OOF CA nightmares.

Actually the sweet spot is VERY sharp with no CA. Like I stated the lens is a specialty lens. I had purchased one last year because I was in a slump. It boosted my creativity.

I would like to see the results from this new verion...
