This summer my fiancée and I spent our vacation in Riva del Garda by the Garda Lake. The photos below are from Riva del Garda and a small village called Limone. If you click on the picture, you’ll get a larger version of it. All photos are shot with my 350D with the kit lens.

I can also definitely recommend this region for vacation. The local food and wine taste great, and the surroundings are absolutely stunning. And it’s just a few hours trip if you want to visit Venice or maybe some larger cities.

And as usual, I’d love to get some C&C.

First one is postcard material, very nice, definately my favorite. It is a wonderful area, have made the trek from Munich with millions of migrating Germans once or twice :)

Thanks Neil. #1 was taken from a slightly elevated position (hotel balcony at the second floor). And yes, there were lots and lots of German tourists in the area :) and I understand why ;)

Just thought I would tell you a little bit more about the photos. #1 - #3 are all from Riva del Garda, which is a town at the northern top of the Garda Lake. #1 and #3 are actually taken from almost the same spot. #2 is taken from La Rocca, which was a old castle transformed into a music hall.

We took a boat to a nearby village called Limone ( #5 - #8 ). It just took 20min by boat, and during that ride I took #4. Limone was a very picturesque place, and if you happen to be in the area at some time, I recommend you take a few hours to visit the place.

Love that house on #7, Good job! Your images bring back memories of the time when I actually lived in Italy for over 3 years.

Thanks Janika. It was a lovely house. All those flowers made it the obvious target for photographers.

Hi,

I really like the second shot an I think a tighter crop will make it better. All of the shots look a little flat, looks like they need a little more pop with contrast & saturation but it could be my monitor. Looks like a beautifull area, it's on the list for our next visit to Italy.

Vic

Thanks for your comments Vic. You might be right about the contrast & saturation. I was just a bit afraid of overdoing it, so I might have underdone it instead.

I'm sure you'll love the place when you visit it :) I don't think I've done the place justice when it comes to its beauty.

Thanks Elisabeth-Ann. I think the house was even more beautiful than the photo makes it. The lake was directly to the right of the house.
