Here are several more pictures of Alicia. We have been taken a whole lot of pictures the past 3 weeks. She is hoping to build a portfolio which allows me to get plenty of practice. And I need the practice. I know that I blew out the background on the first one. I forgot to check the histogram:oops: but I liked how it came out. Also, is the background to busy on the second one? This is why I still need to practice. I'm hoping to improve my skills someday.

All taken with the 50mm lens and fill flash. Still trying to figure out this lens. I get a lot of soft photos.

C&C welcomed.

Thanks Kathy. Yea, I noticed the legs were awkward when taking the pictures and I tried to have her move them but she couldn't get comfortable on the rock. However I didn't think about your suggestion:o I will next time. Thanks.

The pictures are good. One other thing I would add (and it might just be a personal quirk with me), but try not to show the bottom/sole of the shoe. They usually aren't very attractive and I find it really distracting (picture #4)

3 and 4 are my favorites! Great work Art!! If I had to pick one it would be 3, she looks especially beautiful in that one

Thanks xfraser. To be honest with you I didn't notice the bottom of the shoe. You are correct about it.

I like #3 especially well. The diagonals are there, making a pleasing composition.

I'm not offended by the blown background in #1 as the exposure seems spot on.

I take mine out of Auto Focus a lot because mine doens't like to cooperate. I need to send it in to be checked, but it works fine manual so I just deal with it. I did read quite a few reviews that dogged it because of the poor autofocus though.

I agree with this, for me the facial expression just doesn't match the body language.
