What else can I shoot with the 70-200? Manual exposure, f/5, 1/2000, ISO 400

Great shots. How long did it take you to perfect your technique? I've taken hundreds of shots and I haven't gotten anything nearly as good as yours. Progress is being made, however.

Ah, these are the photos i pray to capture one day. Excellent hummer in flight shots Bea! Sharp and beautiful colors. #5, with the face half covered, is my fav.:)

Thank you, Bob! I wouldn't say that I have "perfected" my technique. I actually try something new almost every time I take pics of hummingbirds. This time I tried Manual Exposure, which seems like a good idea. I just have to make up my mind about where I will shoot the bird, sun or shade. When I use Av I have more freedom in that regard but I also get a lot of wrong exposures.

But to answer your question: I've been shooting hummingbirds since February, when I noticed a female build a nest in my yard (see my gallery). I've been taking hummer pics ever since :)

Keep practicing, I'd love to see your pics!
