Hungry Egret- and it's not a fish it's eating!

I got these shots on the way home from work. I usually see a couple egrets and a couple great blue herons. They are usually too far away to shoot, but this one was fairly close.

EXIF 1:
f= 7.1
1/640th
400 ISO
300mm

EXIF 2:

ditto

I did some cropping so that the heron would be larger on here. I didn't know they ate field mice! I also have a few nice shots of it with a lump in his throat. I thought I might have to run out and do the Heimlich!

LOL.. Yes, they'll gobble down any protein they can fit down their throats :) They like frogs, toads, salamanders and lizards too.

Excellent captures, I've seen the GBH with gophers, but of course the camera wasn't with me.

I've seen an Egret with a fish but not with a mice or any other rodent. Very nice capture and thanks for sharing.
