Picked up the Bigma last night.

Do I need a Sigma TC on this? My Tamron doesn't seem to work on it, although it works on all my other lenses.

Thanks for the help...

I was researching the 1.4x TC and found a compatibility chart for Sigma and Canon, (There probably is one for Tamron too) on the B & H web site in the lens accessories section, TC's listed in the specific TC of your choice web page under specifications or description...

Depends what you mean by "working with it". If you mean "auto-focus", then no, probably none of them will - certainly none of the TCs that report effective aperture back to the camera will allow you to AF. The problem is the Bigma's small maximum aperture. The Sigma TC will work as manual focus only and as long as you don't zoom back further than 100mm.

Which one did you get? The 50-500mm or the 170-500mm? The TC's wont work with the 170-500...ask me how I know!

When I had my Bigma I would occasionally try using a Sigma 1.4 teleconverter. IQ degradation was obvious with this setup. Yes you will lose AF and because the maximum aperture becomes f8 ot thereabouts you will have a very difficult time focusing even in bright light.
