The 35mm, both f/2.0 and f/1.4L are some of the sharpest lenses Canon makes, believe it or not. Better than the 50mm, 85mm and 135mm lenses, even.

CountyMan Member 227 posts Joined Oct 2005 Location: Scotland More info | My Tamron 90mm Macro is by far the sharpest lens I have, followed by my Sigma 28-70 2.8DF which is closely followed equally by my Canon 70-200 2.8, 17-40 F4, and Canon 10-22. My Canon 17- 85 is my weakest lens and yet the most often used as its so versatile.

Zoom lenses: sharpness at their widest. Primes have square markers, zooms round markers. It is obvious that the 200 f/1.8 is the sharpest in this company. But also if you would include other lenses.
