Thanx Chris; I talked to other folks and they told me the chickadees don't land on their hands at other parts of the World. I tried this at several places in town and the chickadees always land on my hand if I have food in it.

They can be pretty pursuasive these guys. They won't eat out of my hand in my back yard but they will at a lot of the trails in and around town. I guess its because people feed them and I find they are quite tame at the Dewberry Trail, Jack Pine trail and at Mud lake. While shooting Owls they can be a little distracting when they land on my head ;) Nice series of shots and it shows how small these birds are although the young ones are extremely tiny. Amazing that they thrive even when its 30 degrees below zero....very well adapted to the harshest of environments.

Gary Fairhead C/C welcome .....
