I am thinking of selling the 70-200 2.8 IS and getting a 135L and 200 2.8L in it's place. It seems I find myself using the 100-400 outdoors for sports/Zoo and the 85 1.8 or 50 1.4 in doors, walk around is 24-105 and Tamron 17-50 2.8.

Any comments are welcome before I sell a lens most people want to buy!
Thanks, Stan

My only comment is to let me know if you decide to sell it - I'm just down the road and looking for one.

I have had a similar problem - infact 3 times... I had the non IS one loved it but did not use it too much as I have the 28-300, so sold it then missed it and then bought the IS version and then sold that and a year later did the same again... However I now have both the Pro bodies so I have decided to buy my 4th 70-200 f/2.8 IS USM!!! - definately will be keeping this one as I cannot afford another after this one lol! Plus the wife will kill me!

So basically I am saying if you sell it you will regret it as it is great - think of the low light / poor lighting days and opportunities where the 24-105 and 100-400 just will not cut it - trust me as I have had both these lenses and I have gone back to all f/2.8's now! Saying that I live in the UK where our weather is crap 65% of the year :( LOL! plus I need the fast aperatures too :)

Hope this helps!

Ultimately it's just a lens. If you want to play with primes then give it a whirl - you can always sell them again if you regret it. Lots of people prefer primes, and IQ wise should be excellent.

It will be the last lens in my bag. I can't imagine getting along without mine.

LOL , awww i love my 70-200, i just think i will be in love with the 1.8 lol
It's hypothetical anyway, i wouldn't be able to afford one untill atleast april of next year, assuming i sell the 70-200 at a good price.

I have decided to move forwaed with the 135L and 200 2.8L and keep the 70-200 for now. I will wait a while to see what gets used in which circumstances.
