Usually I shoot at the worst time - high noon, because that's the only time I can find, but I got up and went to work early this morning to take a few pictures of a Great White Heron before I went in.

Out of the camera no PP yet.

Nice silhouette! Still shows some detail, and I like the first shot also.

Love the first one, like the second one. I think I would like the second one more if it was B&W. I'm not sure there is enough color to make it a strong color print, but I think it would look great in black and white. I'm definitely heading over to the lake next week to get some early morning shots after seeing these.

They are both great shots. But I like #2 best. I've seen the bird, this is art. ;)

Love the detail in the first shot but that second one, this might sound strange, there's something powerful about it. Good stuff.

That second image is a real keeper. I could not resist just a little PP to isolate the subject a bit more. My eye was being drawn away from the subject. I hope you approve. Again, I think it is a superb image.

Very nice shots. The second shot has a very nice quality to it. The gold tone of the early sun and the backlighting on the edge of the egret has created a wonderful shot. Nice going!

Great captures Jeff. The bokeh lets the GWH really pop out at you. I like the lit silhouette it captures the serene mood of daybreak.

Very nice exposure on the whites in the first image, great colors and bokeh as well. I would have liked to see more of the bird on the right. The second is very nice...great mood to this shot.
