When I first saw this bird, it was in a strange "headdown" pose with the upper surface of the wings exposed to the sun. When I got to a position to get a little better view, it appeared to be dozing in the sun with its wings spread so the lower surface was exposed to the sun. It is a behavior I haven't seen before.
This is very nearly a "100% crop" - it was resized to 800 pixels tall from about 835 pixels. ISO 200, 1/400s, f11, 200mm L. A little PP in Photoshop.
C&C welcome.
