Now the 400D is out, does that mean there won't be anymore firmware updates or other support for the 350D..?

I would have thought firm ware updates are issued when theres somthing that needs fixing. if theres nothing to fix, then then what is there to update?

Thanks for the replies, I guess my question is really about when Canon release a new model does the support for the old one stop, whether there are any problems or not?

It's still their product, outdated or not. I can't imagine why they wouldn't provide support for it.

I don't recall updates for the 10D once the 20D was launched - different camera, I know, but it might indicate Canons practice.

I don't think there has been any problems with the 350D's firmware though. At least I've found no problems.

The 20D has had no firmware updates since the 30D came out, but maybe by that time Canon made it 'perfect' :-)

I think you will find that unless there is something really wrong they won't be 'looking' for any problems...
