Good shot, I also prefer the colour variant. Looks like a garden orb weaver of some sort, lovely looking spiders, far from ugly.

Color for me.. i walked into one of these once crossing through my backyard when i lived in louisiana... it was quite an experience and with a quick change of my undies i went out to shoot him but he was gone. :P
